Sophie Ellis-Bextor has revealed that she felt "spoilt" while working with the producers of her new album.

The singer, who releases fourth LP Straight To The Heart this summer, said that she felt very lucky to collaborate with Cathy Dennis and The Freemasons.

She told Hits Radio: "I really like working with [The Freemasons]. They're really lovely guys, and they really know their way around dance sounds and also pop sensibilities. They're good at making the melody shine through.

"I've been very spoilt. Cathy Dennis was also brilliant to work with. She's just really easy-going and she doesn't come into the studio like some hugely successful songwriter, which she obviously is. We've done some great songs."

Ellis-Bextor also admitted that she has not kept in touch with Cristiano Spiller, with whom she worked on the song 'Groovejet' ten years ago.

She said: "I haven't spoken to [him] for some time. Years and years and years. No bad blood or anything. We just didn't spend a lot of time together at the time, because... we did one day of promotion together in England and one day in Venice and that was it."

Ellis-Bextor's new single 'Bittersweet' is released on May 3.
