The band split in 2002 after guitarist Graham Coxon quit during recording sessions for their final LP Think Tank, which was released in 2003.
The group reunited for a series of outdoor events last year, before heading back into the studio to record a new single, which will be issued as a limited edition for Record Store Day on April 17.
Speaking about Blur's future, Parlophone president Miles Leonard said that he is keen to see them make a new record.
He told BBC 6 Music: "They sound as competent and as strong as they've ever sounded before. I just hope that from hearing a song like this that the band feel there's more in them. We certainly do as a label and I'm sure when fans hear this they'll think the same."
