The Colombian 'She Wolf' singer will play on Saturday, June 26, underneath headliners Muse and Scissor Sisters, reports eFestivals.
Organiser Emily Eavis said: "Shakira is not only an amazing popstar but also socially and politically forward-thinking; she's working incredibly hard for good causes around the world. We feel honoured to have the She Wolf herself come to Worthy Farm!"
Speaking about her first appearance at the event, the singer said: "I'm really looking forward to playing Glastonbury this year and being a part of their 40th anniversary. Glastonbury is famous for being one of the best festival crowds, so I'm sure I'll have a great time."
The full Glastonbury lineup, which includes Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg and U2, was revealed last week. Tickets for the 40th anniversary event are completely sold out.
