The singer, whose new album My Best Friend Is You is produced by the award-winning Bernard Butler, said that he inspired her to learn more about how a recording studio works.
She told the Daily Star: "I want to do a course and learn to produce and engineer records properly, maybe for other bands. I've always been interested but Bernard has inspired me to take it further.
"He makes it fun because he's been on the other side. He's a supportive and humble musician."
Nash also said that she pushed herself to explore new sounds and not follow the current music trends with her sophomore LP
She explained: "As an artist you have to push yourself. I think it's good to keep doing new things. I never want to recreate anything I've done before. That's just pointless in my book.
"New music trends and scenes are always followed by copycats. Record companies attach themselves to what kids like then ruin it.
"The tone of my music is still the same, if maybe a little more grown-up and with more guitar."
My Best Friend Is You is out now.
