The duo, who recently released their fifth LP Head First, said that they inspired the work of artists such as Little Boots and Florence and the Machine.
When asked by Gay Times if they thought they had inspired a new wave of female artists, Alison Goldfrapp said: "Yeah, although I don't think anyone else regards us a pioneers. I really don't know.
"I think definitely those new ladies have taken something from our camp and that's inspired them, Little Boots, Florence and the Machine, especially in the imagery.
"Everyone is a magpie. Everyone is looking for something. If it sparkles a little bit, they'll have it."
Will Gregory added: "I mean, things come around, there was Blondie, Madonna, they were up there doing their thing, strong female presences. We haven't got agendas, we've just got songs to write."
