Shriner confirmed that each band member has been equally involved in the sessions so far, but remained tight-lipped when it came to further details.
"We're always planning and scheming something," he told Billboard. "We're always working on some new music. I can't really go into any detail about that yet, but we're all writing and working on new stuff."
Weezer, whose record contract with current label Geffen has now expired, are planning to re-release their 1996 sophomore album Pinkerton.
Shriner added that the band’s frontman Rivers Cuomo was also compiling "a ton of B-sides from a big period of time" for a mooted rarities collection.
Both projects are earmarked for release later this year.
