The track 'Lights', taken from sessions for their upcoming fourth album, is available now from the New York band's official website.
According to the group, the song is to be the first of several coming out over the next few months.
"We're stirring," the band wrote in a mailout to fans. "We want to show you something. And make sure you come back soon. We will be posting important information and dates in the coming weeks."
Interpol have been working on the follow-up to 2007's Our Love To Admire in New York and London, and are believed to be finalising release plans for an album later this year, which frontman Paul Banks has previously described as having an orchestral feel.
