The group, who were performing at Fort Canning Park in Singapore, cut their set short after a concertgoer threw the sandal at Jones.
According to The Mirror, Jones then tossed the shoe aside and muttered 'Thank you', before the rest of his bandmates followed him off stage.
A fan at the concert is quoted as saying: "It was a great night until that happened. Whoever did it was very selfish."
Security guards at the venue took the man responsible outside, after which Jones and his bandmates returned to the stage to finish their set.
