Waters, who recently announced Pink Floyd's plans to tour North America later this year, admits that Gilmour was "completely disinterested" in a reunion.
The bassist told The AP: "David [Gilmour] is completely disinterested in anything like that. After Live 8, I could have probably gone for doing some more stuff, but he's not interested, so it is what it is."
Speaking about the group's plans to tour with their seminal record The Wall, he said: "That's still very much in the cards. I have been working on and off for the last year or so with an English writer named Lee Hall, who has become greatly celebrated over here and in London, because he wrote Billy Elliot, which is one of the most successful musicals out there at the moment"
The tour kicks off in Toronto on September 15, concluding in California on December 13.
