The singer, whose next single 'Unthinkable (I'm Ready)' features rapper Drake, explained that the promo clip will highlight the past and present stigmas surrounding the subject.
Rap Up reports that the video was shot by British director Jake Nava, who has previously worked with Britney Spears, Beyoncé and Usher.
One Tree Hill actor Chad Michael Murray will play her love interest and is seen in the video with blood on his face while fighting with a gang of men.
Speaking on the set, Keys said: "It's crazy, it's so insane."
An official release date for the song is yet to be announced.
