'80s pop icon Adam Ant ranted and swore during a gig at a church hall in Hampshire earlier this week.

According to The Sun, Ant, real name Stuart Goddard, was heckled by the audience after he performed The Rolling Stones hit 'Sympathy For The Devil'.

He apparently told the 200-strong crowd: "I'm a punk rocker. I don't do Christian. You can f**k off to the church."

The event, which charged £5 a ticket, was organised to raise money for a children's charity. One audience member commented: "He swore a lot and just stood messing with his guitar. I was disappointed."

Speaking about the gig, Goddard said: "The show was s**t. I wasn't told it was in a church hall."

The 'Prince Charming' popstar revealed earlier this year that he is working on his first studio album in nearly 15 years.
