The singer, who recently announced that she had 'disowned' her BNP-supporting stepfather, admitted that the change in sound came about through the large quantity of writing she did for the LP.
She told the Daily Record: "I've done a huge amount of writing for this record, which revealed quite a change in my style.
"There are some changes in the band - Sam and Arnie have taken their mighty talents to new worlds. They'll be massively missed."
The 34-year-old also revealed that she has opted for a new image, joking that she had a "nose job, new DD cup and curly hair plugs".
She added: "[I] got so fed up of straight hair, I can't tell you."
