Liam: 'Oasis split was the best thing'

The band's former frontman told the New York Times that he now relished the freedom the split has given him.
Liam said: "In hindsight it was the best thing that's ever happened, because we're free to do whatever we want."
Asked when he would be prepared to give up the baton of 'Greatest Frontman' after his recent gong from Q Magazine, he added: "They gotta mug me for it."
Liam recently unveiled his new band Beady Eye with fellow ex-Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
