The 'Whataya Want From Me' star - who kicks off the show this week - told Billboard that fans can expect to experience a themed concert inspired by "turn of the century New Orleans".
"From the top of the show I'm inviting the audience to take a journey with me into this emotional and thematic world. At the beginning it's more about seduction, venturing into the unknown and taking chances - mystery and intrigue and sexiness," he explained.
"The midpoint of the show really explores heartbreak and vulnerability and honesty, and then the latter half of the show is celebration and joy and love and connection."
He went on to name Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Keith Richards among the people who have "inspired the look and the feel of the show" and revealed that audience members will also be treated to an acoustic set and cover songs.
The singer - who previously said that he wanted a "sparkly" and "theatrical" production - recently suggested that fans should donate to charity rather than give him gifts on the road.
The 'Glam Nation Tour' - with support from Orianthi and Allison Iraheta - begins this week in Pennsylvania.
