The singer, whose debut LP Ladyhawke peaked at number 16 and went Gold in the UK, posted a message on her official website after an extended period of silence.
She wrote: "Just thought I'd let you guys know I'm currently working on the next album... I haven't actually dropped off the face of the earth, well nearly, I'm at home in New Zealand.
"I know some people have been curious about the next record... I've been writing tunes here in NZ, and then I'll be heading over to the UK and the States next month for some more recording, and a change of scenery! I will let you know when I'm closer to it being finished! :-)"
Ladyhawke's most successful single in the UK is 'My Delirum', which charted at number 33.
