Elton 'told Scissor Sisters to scrap LP'

The music legend was asked by the group for his opinion on their record because they were not sure if the material would be successful.
Music Rooms reports that frontman Jake Shears, who previously said that the band had scrapped an album's worth of songs before starting again, explained: "We had a whole album of material but we just weren’t sure we believed in it.
"Our guitarist Babydaddy played it to Elton John, and next thing I get a call from Elton. He just says, ‘This isn’t it, this isn’t the record. It’s just not right’. So I went to Berlin and pressed the reset button.
"I had to be by myself, and dream, be sexy and, you know, be bad."
Scissor Sisters release Night Work on June 28, preceded by single 'Fire With Fire' a week earlier.
