Moore has revealed that he is no longer collaborating with Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett on an upcoming opera based on 16th century astronomer Dr. John Dee, reports VBS.
"I should dash cold water on anybody's dreams of this Doctor Dee opera with Damon Albarn and Gorillaz," he is quoted as saying at the Magus Conference at the University of Northampton.
He added: "It didn't work out, shall we say."
Moore claimed that other commitments from both parties led to the project's demise.
However, he said that Albarn and Hewlett could continue with the opera on their own.
