Talking to DS, The Charlatans frontman revealed that he has been working with Joshua Hayward of The Horrors and Klaxons star Steffan Halperin.
Burgess said of his side-projects: "There's slow, slow work on a solo record - a Tim Burgess record. I've also been doing a collaboration record with my friend Steff, who's the drummer in the Klaxons and Josh, who's the guitarist in The Horrors - that's one band."
Of his work with The Libertines' Carl Barat and others as The Chavs, he added: "I think The Chavs have definitely got this mythical thing going on. They have existed and will exist again.
"I'm actually renting a flat in London at the moment and Carl's in the studio downstairs doing a solo album so I see him every minute. So you never know, I could do a gig with him tonight!"
Burgess said: "I've always got stuff going on. Recently I've been producing other people's records. I think it's really important for every band to have side projects. For me, working with other bands is great."
The Charlatans release 11th album Who We Touch on September 6 and support the record with a full UK tour the following month.
