The group, who were recently caught up in a legal battle over ownership of their name, are working with producer Boxsta, who previously contributed to their fifth studio album Change.
Writing on his Twitter account, he said: "Recording and writing with Sugababes @ Metrophonic studios in surrey. Recorded drums and guitars as well…cool stuff !(sic)"
Boxsta has also worked with Trinity Stone, a three-piece girlband that featured Sugababes' newest member Jade Ewen.
The Sugababes released their latest LP Sweet 7 earlier this year. It peaked at number 14 on the UK album chart.
