Malcolm and Angus Young have been named Songwriters Of The Year.

The AC/DC musicians, who are notoriously publicity-shy, picked up the prize at the APRA Awards in Australia this week.

The Temper Trap won the Song Of The Year award for their single 'Sweet Disposition', while the title of Breakthrough Songwriters was given to Empire Of The Sun's Luke Steele, Nick Littlemore and Jonathan Sloan.

Troy Casser-Daley won Country Work Of The Year for 'Big, Big Love' and indigenous artist Jimmy Little was presented with the Ted Albert Award For Outstanding Service to Australian Music.
