The 'Fire With Fire' group had invited the Lord Of The Rings actor to join them at Glastonbury this weekend for a performance of 'Invisible Light' which features his vocals.
"Alas I shan't be with Scissor Sisters at Glastonbury, much as I hate to turn down any invitation from Jake Shears," he wrote on Twitter.
"This weekend I'll be on stage at the Sydney Opera House which is a compensation."
Kylie Minogue will reportedly join the group to perform her single 'All The Lovers' during their set on the Pyramid Stage.
