According to MTV, the 50-year-old actor took to the stage to join the ex-Beatle in singing 'Hey Jude', which was dedicated to surprise audience member Dame Judi Dench.
McCartney said: "It was a great pleasure to come and rock out for the Old Vicers! When Kevin strong-armed me into doing it, as he does, we were only too pleased to show up and step up to the plate."
He added of the experience: "We had a great evening, we rocked out and the crowd did too. We couldn't have asked for more."
Spacey was artistic director for the fundraiser, which aimed to save the Old Vic Theatre roof.
