The rapper releases the solo LP through Def Jam this week. Jive, which he is signed to as part of Outkast, has prevented the inclusion of the tracks featuring his bandmate Andre 3000.
Big Boi told Metro: "Outkast is the only group in the hip-hop genre that has won album of the year. Nobody else has done that: we’ve sold diamond. There's not a lot to prove.
"But for the past few years, people have been getting away from music and it's been about who's sleeping with who, who got arrested, just drama. So I'm just here to bring it back to the music."
Regarding the album title, he added: "Luscious Left Foot is a moniker I've had since before the days of 'So Fresh, So Clean'; it's just a more mature, focused version of Big Boi.
"[Son Of Chico Dusty was] my father's nickname. He was an air force pilot and also a marine and a real tough guy, and he passed away about five years ago.
"I'm the oldest of five kids and that was just my way of carrying the flame. It's also a way of grieving a little bit. I know he'd be proud now."
