The singer, who has been working on her debut solo album since being ousted from the group last September, said that she wants to record material her fans will be proud of.
Discussing her forthcoming record, she told Punchbowl: "It's raw, it's fresh, and obviously the catalogue of songs that I've had in the past with the Sugababes, it's like, I have to be very aware of that as well.
"So I've been going about listening to a lot of albums, from One Touch... to the rest of the albums. There's a lot of songs and I want to do everyone proud."
She continued: "It's not going to be the typical direction. I think a lot of people will be quite shocked, but I'm feeling ready to go and I'm excited."
