It was reported last week that a song called 'Fearless' by Buchanan was posted on the MySpace page of producer Charlie Holmes, prompting speculation that the track may appear on her debut solo album.
She told Punchbowl: "I can't even tell you if this is the direction of the album because this was like, the really early stages. The song is obviously about overcoming.
"He put it on his MySpace because he was so excited that he had done something with me. He's such a sweet guy - I don't think he realised that people would catch on to the fact that it was me and he was like, 'Oh my God, what have I done?!'"
She continued: "I'm glad that people really like the song, but I also don't want people thinking that's the direction [on the album]. It wasn't really a leak, he put it on so that people could hear because he was excited about the track."
It was reported earlier that Buchanan has been listening to previous Sugababes albums to gain inspiration for her own record.
