The band performed in front of President Barack Obama and US troops as part of the July 4 celebrations.
Earlier this year, The Killers announced that they would be taking a break after the end of their world tour.
However, the band's frontman Brandon Flowers said that they couldn't refuse the request.
WENN quotes him as saying: "It is a monumental honour for us to be a part of this 4th of July celebration at the White House. We could never repay the servicemen and women of this country for their contributions and sacrifice. To perform for them and their families on America's birthday will be our pleasure.”
The concert honoured active-duty members of the military and also featured performances from comedian Cedric the Entertainer and singer Brandi Carlile.
