The 'Rehab' singer was due to release her third LP later this year, but Ronson explained that he believes she doesn't have the right songs yet.
He told The Sun: "Amy hasn't begun working on her next record yet. When she's got ten songs we'll go down to the studio together.
"I've heard some tracks. She takes a long time to grind out an album. She writes from her own experiences and most of the time they're bittersweet experiences, and that's the problem."
The pair recently collaborated for a cover of '60s hit 'It's My Party', which will feature on a Quincy Jones tribute album.
Winehouse's father Mitch and bosses at her label have previously stated that the record will be released by the end of this year.
