Kylie had "sleepless nights" over album

The singer worked with several different songwriters and producers - including Calvin Harris, Jake Shears, Nerina Pallot, Starsmith and Richard X - before assembling what would ultimately become the Aphrodite LP with 'executive producer' Stuart Price.
"I was a little lost in the beginning and I wasn't sure what the album was that we were trying to make, but then Stuart came on board and the other writers and producers were gracious enough to hand over their work to the central hub of his studio," Minogue recalled at the album's launch party in Ibiza.
However, towards the end of the recording process, Aphrodite's unusual and complicated genesis began to take its toll on the singer's mental state.
"I was so nervewracked that we just wouldn't pull it off. I had sleepless nights and I was really getting stressed, but there was so much good energy from everyone involved that I thought it might just work," she said.
Fortunately, the singer - who recently notched up her 33rd UK top ten hit with the album's lead single 'All The Lovers' - is more than happy with the final record.
"I think I've found a really good balance on this album. We've pushed the envelope again but we've definitely got one foot firmly in pop/dance," she said.
Minogue's Aphrodite album was released earlier this week and is on course to debut at number one on the UK albums chart this Sunday.
