According to Us Weekly, a representative for the rocker confirmed that he "sustained a torn calf muscle" during a concert at New Meadowlands Stadium.
Bon Jovi continued to perform despite the injury.
"Jon made light of the injury and went on to close the show with their anthemic hit 'Living On A Prayer'," his rep said.
They added: "The band ended the night together, thanking the capacity hometown crowd, and assisting Jon off the stage. The injury will not prevent Bon Jovi from playing any of their upcoming stadium dates this summer."
Bon Jovi plan to travel to Japan, New Zealand, Peru and Australia this year for the band's 'The Circle' world tour.
