In 1985, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure arranged a star-studded concert at Wembley Stadium to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia.
Queen, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, The Who and U2 were among those who performed.
A total of 72,000 people watched the gig in the stadium, while an estimated two billion viewers worldwide tuned in to watch live coverage of the event.
The poll was voted by 3,000 people. Live Aid was followed by Jimi Hendrix's two-hour appearance at the Woodstock festival in 1969.
