New Weezer album to have "raw rock energy"

The frontman told Connecticut's News Times that the group will leave their pop influences behind and return to their rock roots for the record.
"There's definitely going to be more raw rock energy on this one," he explained.
"I've spent the entire morning trying to come up with a name for the record. How does Heavy Mental sound?"
He added that he believes Weezer have stayed true to their fanbase.
"I don't feel like we've really transcended our original niche. We're always going to be the weirdos."
It was recently reported that Cuomo collaborated with Ryan Adams on a song for Weezer's upcoming album.
