Doolittle 'wanted to be a stage school kid'

The 'Pack Up' singer is the granddaughter of Sylvia Young, the woman who founded the prestigious London theatre school which bears her name.
Asked if she attended the independent stage school, Doolittle told Metro: "No, I wasn't allowed, I went to normal school.
"I did stage school classes on Saturday. My parents wanted me to concentrate on academic stuff, which probably made me want to perform even more."
Asked if she was a "precocious stage school kid", she replied: "No, I wasn't, even though I wanted to be. I wanted to spend two days a week dancing around at school. I'm glad now, though. I'd probably have ended up in a different part of the business.
"I was 12 when I decided I wanted to be a singer and my parents backed me straight away. Being around performers growing up made me think I could do it, that it was a possibility for me."
