Keyboard player Nick Rhodes confirmed that the singer would feature on the Mark Ronson-produced LP, the group's first since 2007's Red Carpet Massacre.
Rhodes said: "It is almost impossible for me to explain just how much I adore Ana Matronic. This past Thursday, she came in all her fabulousness to our studio in London and performed a rather exquisite vocal cameo on a song called 'Safe' from the forthcoming Duran Duran album.
"Needless to say, it's already one of my favourite moments on the entire record. Can't wait to do the video..."
Along with Goldfrapp, Scissor Sisters were one of the support acts on Duran Duran's 2004 reunion tour.
