The Wanted: 'We jump around like idiots'

The Wanted's Jay McGuiness has admitted that the group struggled with some of Brian Friedman's choreography.

According to midweek chart data, the group's debut single 'All Time Low' is on course to top the UK singles chart.

McGuiness told Metro that the band "kind of" do dance routines during performances.

"We tend to do our own thing but Brian Friedman from X Factor choreographed stuff for the bigger gigs," he said. "He did this big routine and then took out the bits we couldn’t do."

When asked how much that was, the singer said: "Loads."

He added: "He made us look good doing the things we could do. He was clever with how he worked with us. If we could do backflips, we would, but we don’t have the skills."

McGuiness revealed that when he was chosen to join the group, he decided to "thoroughly research boybands".

"I haven’t seen one we’re similar to," he said. "Westlife just stand there and sing; we jump around like idiots. We have dance routines but we’re not as good as *NSync.

"I think we’re a new specie band. Although I might be flattering myself."
