Darkchild - real name Rodney Jerkins - said that he hopes to release an LP of tracks he was working on with Jackson before the popstar's death last year. However, he admitted that there will be various legal obstacles to overcome.
He told Vlad TV: "I worked with Michael for years, it was a blessing. When I first decided I wanted to be a producer at 11 years old, I wrote on a piece of paper 'one day I'm going to work with Michael Jackson'.
"I was devastated by his death... and we have to preserve his legacy. I'm about to work on an unreleased project that we're talking about doing. It's definitely going to [happen].
"It takes time though, you've got to do a lot of the red tape, but there's definitely stuff to come. I learned a lot from him, I really did."
Jerkins co-produced Jackson's last studio album, 2001's Invincible.
