The 'Kickstarts' star jokingly said that the group looked like "extras from Hollyoaks", reports the Daily Record.
"They are just so perfect looking, all of them. It's like some guy has spotted them loitering on set and said, 'You wanna be in a band?'," he said.
Responding to the dig, Siva Kaneswarann said: "I'm upset that he just thinks we look like extras, not even main actors."
Max George added: "It's okay. We think he looks like Marlon from Emmerdale.
However their bandmate Nathan Sykes took the comment as a compliment, saying: "I guess he thinks we look attractive so it's not all bad."
