The Hoosiers 'were fatalistic about LP'

Writing in the Daily Star, they admitted that producing a follow-up to their 2007 number one LP The Trick to Life was more difficult than they anticipated.
"We had serious writers’ block for the first six months of working on The Illusion Of Safety, which hits stores on August 16," they said.
"We’d sit down at the piano, or with our guitars, and try to create something but sweet FA would materialise. We got bogged down thinking we had to make an instant hit."
The 'Goodbye Mr A' singers added: "People think we’re always happy but we started to feel quite fatalistic about it. Nevertheless, we kept battling and about seven months in, something clicked and the songs started coming together."
However, the band claimed that they have not hit their "peak as musicians yet".
"We’re giving ourselves until album three for that. But look at Prince, Bruce Springsteen and even Blur - it was their third albums that really connected," they said.
They also revealed that they are "keen" to get on with the third LP and have "left the door open for a rockier sound".
"We promise we won’t take so long next time!" they wrote.
The Hoosiers released new single 'Choices' this week.
