Radio 1 names new head of music

George Ergatoudis was appointed BBC Radio 1's new head of music today.
Ergatoudis, currently music manager at 1Xtra, will succeed Alex Jones-Donelly.
"I am delighted to appoint George - it's one of the most important jobs at Radio 1, and arguably for the music industry as a whole," said Andy Parfitt, Radio 1's controller.
