Earlier this year, the 'Closer' singer revealed that his new record Libra Scale was inspired by a self-penned movie script which he hoped to make, with the LP serving as the soundtrack.
However, he has since said that the plans have been cancelled due to costs. He has instead condensed the 45-minute film into his music video for new single 'Beautiful Monster'.
He told ITV1's Loose Women: "[I had] an elaborate idea. I wrote a short story, I guess you could call it a script. My initial idea was to make a 45 minute mini-movie and my album would be the soundtrack to that film.
"But I found out the hard way that movies cost a whole lot of money and take a whole lot of time, [so] we decided to tell the story through the video [instead]."
'Beautiful Monster' is currently on course to top the UK singles chart this Sunday.
