Around 200 people stormed the stage when the singer was performing 'Paper Planes'.
The star had asked fans to join her on stage at the Herefordshire event, but a spokesperson later revealed that she hadn't 'expected the overwhelming demand'.
Festival organisers wrote on Twitter: "A spokesperson for M.I.A. thanked the wonderful audience at the Big Chill for the fantastic reception received and apologised for having to cut the set short due to overwhelming demand for fans to come on stage when only a few were expected."
Thom Yorke, Broken Bells and Lily Allen are among those who also performed at the Big Chill.
