It had recently been suggested that the singer has "grown apart" from her bandmates, but Kimberley Walsh rejected claims that the group would reunite as a four-piece.
However, Nadine's father Niall told Heat that his daughter had made a new life for herself in Los Angeles and would not return to the UK permanently to rejoin the group.
Niall said: "When the rest of the girls are in town, they don't contact Nadine. You can understand why she may feel left out. They know where she is and don't call.
"I'm not saying she will never go back to Girls Aloud, but her life is here now, as are her friends, family and her future. She won't be moving back to the UK, why would she?"
A friend of Nadine's reportedly added to the magazine: "This isn't the first time she's had to read rumours about her future in Girls Aloud. She gets upset when she thinks she's being made out to be the troublemaker.
"She feels people are just chipping away at her and trying to get her to leave the band... She feels really hurt. As far as she's concerned, the band are on a break and she's doing her own thing until they get back together.
"It's no secret that she wants a solo career but she wants it to be on her terms and not because she is bullied out of the band."
