Janet Jackson promises UK live dates

Although the R&B singer performed on The X Factor last year in support of her Greatest Hits collection The Best, she has not played a full UK live date since 1998's 'The Velvet Rope World Tour'.
Discussing the possibility of future UK shows, she told Digital Spy: "I would really love to - it's been 12 years since I've played here in Europe and I miss it a great deal. The last tour [I took to Europe] was 'The Velvet Rope'.
"I wanted to come over with my other tours but I was nervous when we started the war. I was very worried. I'm not giving up singing for acting though. I love it too much. I'll come back for sure."
Jackson, 44, does not currently have a record deal, but she recently recorded the track 'Nothing' for the soundtrack of her new movie Why Did I Get Married Too?, which opens in UK cinemas next month.
"The song's really inspired by the characters in the film," Jackson said. "I wrote it with [producer/boyfriend] Jermaine Dupri.
"Tyler [Perry, director] didn't have a theme song for the movie, so Jermaine and I went to his studio in Atlanta, wrote this song, came back and presented it to Tyler and he liked it. That's how it all came about."
