Producer Bryan Michael Cox - who has co-written songs for both artists - broke the news in a video blog posted on YouTube.
He said: "Usher and the boy Chris Brown are going on tour, y'all know that, right? I might've just gave y'all some exclusive s**t!"
Shortly afterwards, Brown backed up the news on his Twitter page, posting: "What would you guys say if me and Usher went on tour?"
Earlier this year, Brown was forced to cancel his European tour after being refused entry to the UK.
He is currently on a five-year probation after assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna before the Grammy Awards last February.
