In a blog post linked to the ex-Auteurs frontman's official Twitter page, a short video revealed details of the unusual project.
"On September 1st 2010 Luke Haines will release 50 new albums, Outsider Music Volumes 1 - 50. More details soon," the website promised.
A short film from Sian Pattenden, also known as Sian Superman, featured an animated model of Haines and a voice stating: "Outsider Music Volumes 1 - 50. New recordings from Mr Luke Haines. Ten new songs, 50 separate performances.
"May contain out-of-tune singing, bad playing and knocked microphones... Available to order now, 50 copies only."
Pattenden recently produced the artwork which accompanied the audiobook release of Haines's Bad Vibes memoir.
Haines's last full-length studio album was the double-CD 21st Century Man/Achtung Mutha in 2009
