The singer, who released her self-titled debut album last month, said that she has never had a "back-up plan" as she doesn't think that she can succeed in any other area.
According to Yahoo, the star said: "I've really focused on what I wanted to do and never really thought about a back-up plan because, to be honest, I had no choice - I'm not really any good at anything else.
"When I was really little, I just wanted to be a princess, but then I realised unless I married William or Harry, that would be pretty much impossible."
The 22-year-old, whose grandmother is stage school founder Sylvia Young, added: "I don't want anyone to think I've just come along for the ride and got by on any connections I might have.
"All the people I work with now are the people I started with at a really young age and I've just made music with them rather than involve my family in anything. I didn't like the idea of the pressure that comes with everyone knowing my plans, and in some ways, I feel like I've got more to prove."
