The singer, who is gearing up for the release of her new single 'Drummer Boy', said that touring Europe and Australia with her last record has prepared her for the States.
"I'd love to go, 100% - whenever I mention music I am thinking about the world, I'm never just thinking about the UK," she told Metro.
"Last year, we had an incredible time going in and out of Europe with 'The Boy Does Nothing'. It even did well in Australia but we never went over to America.
"This feels like the right time - a lot of the album was done in America. I just feel ready to go for it and life's too short. You've just got to for these things when you can."
Dixon also revealed her delight at Robbie Williams's return to Take That, saying: "I think it is the right time now to inject some life into it and it will be a lot of fun."
'Dummer Boy' is released on September 6.
