Keisha Buchanan has revealed that she would like to write a song for Cheryl Cole's new album.

The former Sugababe, who is working on her debut solo LP, said that she has also started producing records and wants to write a track for Cole.

"The sky's the limit for me and I've started producing as well as collaborating with people," she told the Daily Record.

"Everyone I've spoken to is very excited about it and I'm really happy too. When I write songs, I write harmonies for other people in a band, not just for me.

"I'd love to write something for Cheryl. I really love what she did with her last album and would like to see what else she comes up with."

Buchanan further admitted that she is a perfectionist when it comes to writing music for her album, and is keen to create a sound that reflects her personality.

She continued: "I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I'm writing for other people, as opposed to when I was in the band and writing for myself. I don't want to be a puppet and have someone else give me my sound.

"I want to be genuine and hope everyone will be proud of me. I'm not necessarily relieved to be away from Sugababes and I've had loads and loads of support - more than I ever asked for. I'm having the time of my life at the moment."

Buchanan's album is due for release next year.
