The band, who reformed to play this year's Reading and Leeds festival, reportedly sang 'Horrorshow'', 'The Delaney' and 'Vertigo' before Pete Doherty and Carl Barat left the stage because of concerns about fans near the front of the audience.
According to NME, they returned to the stage and asked fans to take better care of each other. Pete Doherty apparently said: "If anyone goes down, don't go standing on anyone's head or anything. Look after each other."
The band then went on to complete their 18-song set. They will play Reading Festival later today, on Saturday.
