The rapper insisted that she feels the void of her label boss as he is currently serving time at New York's Rikers Island jail on weapons possession charges.
In an interview with Billboard, she said: "I love him very much. I miss him and he's such a sweetheart and all of that good stuff. But I will see him soon."
Minaj also admitted that pressure from Cash Money Records persuaded her to release her debut album Pink Friday earlier than expected.
She added: "The album release just so happened, [Cash Money Records co-founders] Baby and Slim, they were like, 'November’, and I was like 'No, no, no’, I wanted to put my album out next year. I don't feel like people really know me yet."
Earlier this month, Minaj claimed that her success should be largely credited to Wayne.
Pink Friday is scheduled to be released in the US on November 23.
