The singer, whose last holiday album Merry Christmas was released in 1994, will put out Merry Christmas II You this November, Rap Up reports.
The record is said to include original material as well as covers of Christmas classics.
The website claims that a DVD will accompany the release, although details of what it will contain are not known.
Carey's manager Chris Lightly recently tweeted that she is working with the Home Shopping Network in the US to promote the record.
The album's artwork was reportedly shot by photographer and director David LaChapelle, who has previously worked with Christina Aguilera, Elton John and Robbie Williams. It features fake snow, tinsel and wooden reindeer.
Carey's first Christmas album peaked at number 32 on the UK album chart, but has since been certified Gold and sold over three million copies worldwide after impressive sales year-on-year.
Merry Christmas II You is slated for release on November 2.
